In our pursuit of the ultimate resonance, we made zero compromises in our choice of materials. We scientifically analyzed the elemental composition of legendary vintage mouthpieces and carefully selected a blend which we have named Vintage Brass—the ideal brass alloy for optimal acoustic properties. Furthermore, by applying high-purity 24K gold plating to the surface, we bring out a rich, lustrous tone, elevating the mouthpiece's true potential to its absolute peak.
The stunning hammered finish extending from the body to the shank is the defining symbol of the Takumi. The painstaking process, where our craftsmen repeatedly strike the carefully selected Vintage Brass with a hammer, is far from mere decoration. It is an essential approach deliberately chosen to draw out the absolute maximum potential of the sound.
By meticulously hand-forging the exterior to increase its hardness, we preserve the material’s natural, inherent flexibility on the inside. This resulting "gradient of hardness" (structural heterogeneity) within the metal creates miraculous acoustic properties entirely unseen in conventional metal mouthpieces.

[A Message from the Creator]
In 2019, I happened to watch a television feature on the triangle. The program compared a standard triangle with one featuring a hammered finish. The resonance of the hammered triangle was so overwhelmingly superior that the difference was strikingly clear, even through my TV speakers.
At that exact moment, inspiration struck. I thought to myself, "Could this hammering technique be applied to saxophone mouthpieces?"
That question sparked a long journey of trial and error. In my endless pursuit of the ideal resonance, I repeated tests time and time again, until finally, I completed the ultimate mouthpiece—one that I am truly and completely satisfied with.
As an active player myself, I have relentlessly field-tested it in actual live performances, and its potential proved to be truly astonishing. Despite being crafted from metal, it is fully capable of expressing a warm, rich tone reminiscent of hard rubber. It naturally possesses the overwhelming power you expect from a metal mouthpiece, yet even carries at pianissimo, its beautifully defined tone clearly all the way to the audience.
